DJapan - Things Happening in Tokyo 14/09/2018

by Caven Cade Mitchell

DJapan stands for Dev Japan and Design Japan, two of the largest communities I'm involved with. This post is dedicated to them and the members who belong to them. But there is something in here for everyone, even if you're not a member. So let's get to it.

STUFF

I'm just calling this section stuff because there's just a lot going on and I don't have a general title for it all.

I'm still collecting responses for how people would like to be emailed. If you are reading this via email you will see a link that includes a form of how to add your opinion.

If you'd like to share your event with the developer and designer community who read this channel please fill out this form and I will include your event/news below.

With that, here are events/news happening in Tokyo.

Upcoming Events

So this format is kind of tough to read with really long text. To clearly read the details I'd recommend using the links below.

This week is a busy week it seems. Twilio Japan is having it's Smart Communications Award also there is the Tech in Asia Conference (I'll be speaking) both on Friday. Or Thursday and Friday for Tech in Asia. There are lots of other events happening as well.

The other item I'd like to highlight this time is the Rakuten Tech Conference Hackathon. We'll be hosting a hackathon as a part of RTC this year and just opened registration. So far I've gotten Microsoft, Google, Nexmo, and a few others involved as partners. The overall theme is to hack something with Rakuten tech and partner tech.

If your interested in learning Japanese there's a new online learning tool called Eigopower.net, they're apparently targeting engineers in Tokyo.

Again if you want to share your news with me use this link and I'll include it next week.

Here are some events happening in Tokyo that might interest you.

A bit long but it's a work in progress. It's definitely easier this way than piecing through everyone's submission.
